If you are NEW to what a 7th & 8th Grade Gathering please read the information below!
The North Deanery Youth Ministers host different themed events four times a year. All 7th & 8th Grade parish members, from any of our 10 North Deanery parishes, are welcome and encouraged to attend!
These Gathering Events are for the 7th & 8th Graders to enjoy fellowship and fun through dancing, playing games, and interacting with teens from our neighboring parishes - often the teens they will be attending high school with in a few short years!
The Permission Form and Guidelines are attached. Everyone MUST have BOTH (front & back) pages signed and ready to be turned in at the entrance to the gathering! I do not need to receive these forms in advance ... simply bring it with you!
ADMISSION is $10.00 AND for the August Gathering, a new toy for a child age 6-12 years old. These toys will help support families that benefit from the Archdiocesan Christmas Store. (Ideas include: puzzles, lego's matchbox cars, nail polish kits, trucks, LOL dolls, art supplies, playdoh sets, books, action figures, Fisher-Price or Playskool items, etc.)
The North Deanery Gathering Admission Cost is always $10.00. In addition, we always have a service component during our gatherings. Be sure to read each permission form to see what item we will be collecting!
There is often a theme to our Events, feel free to dress according to the theme. August Theme is Decades! The theme will always be noted on the permission form! Start searching now for your best costume ... prizes will be awarded! (No need to buy anything, get creative with what you have in your home.)
Students are welcome to bring cash for the concession stand. We sell drinks and small snacks. Each host facility has a little different selection. We DO NOT carry large or dinner type concession items.
There is always a DJ at our Gatherings. When the DJ sets up his area, he always puts out a sign-up sheet for requests. The more you request, the more you will enjoy dancing at the gathering!
We always set-up a photo prop area for you and your friends to have your pictures created with various themed items! At This Event, we will have a professional photo booth that will be set up AND you get to take your photos home with you for FREE!
ALSO, the August event will have an Inflatable Relay Run! You can compete against your friends, boys vs girls, race against teens from another parish ... fun and friendly competition for everyone!
Check-In will take place at the main entrance to the gym of the host facility. The students will walk themselves inside, bringing their Permission Form, Admission Fee, and his/her Service Donation Item.
At the end of the Gathering, all students will be lined along a sidewalk or safe gathering space. Parents should remain in their cars and enter the parking area carpool style to pick up all in their party.
Chaperones are expected at all Gathering events to help collect money and service donation items at the door, help patrol the facility, encourage Christian behavior, work at the concession stand, monitor the parking lot, monitor bathrooms, and help with very quick clean-up at the end of the evening. Please volunteer when you can!
